Further to Press Release 07/2018.

The eight men arrested on the night of Wednesday 24th January, after the 6m RHIB they were travelling in was detected and stopped in BGTW, 3⁄4 miles west of the South Mole, have been charged as follows:

• Spanish National Mohamed ROCHI MOHAMED (1986), the coxswain of the vessel, and Moroccan National Mohammed DKHISSI (1978), the crewman, have been charged with 1x count each of assisting illegal immigration into another state.
• ROCHI MOHAMED has also been charged with 1x count of importing a prohibited import.
• DKHISSI has been also been charged with being a non-Gibraltarian found in Gibraltar without a valid permit or certificate.
• The remaining 6 individuals::

Ali EL MORABET (1993)
Khalid MAIMOUNI (1992)
Mohamed CHAQTYR (1987)
Anwan EL ASRI (1991)
Rachid RKIK (1994
Ali BENYAHIA (1999)

All of whom are Moroccan nationals have been charged with 1x count each of being a non-Gibraltarian found in Gibraltar without a valid permit or certificate.

All of the men remain in Police custody and will appear before the Magistrates’ Court on Friday 26th January 2018.
