A sad day at New Mole House
Today we say goodbye to Police Dog Stig, a former General Purpose Dog with the Royal Gibraltar Police K9-Unit.
Stig came to the RGP in 2014, from South Yorkshire Police, and served his entire service alongside his handler, now Police Sergeant Gerry Martinez, until his retirement in 2019.
PD Stig was deployed operationally more than 130 times and, on his retirement, was awarded a Medallion of Honour by the Commissioner of Police in recognition of his bravery and commitment to service.
Following his retirement, Stig moved in to his forever home with PS Phil Ackerly and PC Emma Rowbottom, who cared for him until his passing today.
