Moroccan nationals—Ahmed ZAIZOUNI (Aged 56) and Said EL KAISSI (Aged 35)—both residents of The Sunrise Hostel have been charged jointly with one count of Affray, under Section 57 of the Crimes Act 2011. EL KAISSI was also charged withone count of Possession of a Controlled Class B Drug contrary to Section 506(2) of Crimes Act 2011.

Both men were arrested by Response Team Officers after a violent altercation that took place at the hostel between both parties on Tuesday, 13th of October 2026, during which personal and hostel property was also damaged.

Although both men suffered injuries after the altercation,only one of them required medical treatment for a laceration to the arm.

Both men are due to appear before the Magistrates’ Court this morning.
