FURTHER ARRESTS AND CHARGES - ROBBERY AT NEW HARBOURS INDUSTRIAL ESTATE

A further two persons have been arrested by officers investigating the robbery at New Harbours Industrial Estate in June last year.

Officers of the RGP’s Crime and Protective Services division arrested 18 year old local man, Badr Acharki, on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery, and a 35 year old locally resident Moroccan national was arrested on suspicion of concealing or transferring proceeds of criminal conduct and suspicion of assisting or encouraging robbery. Both men were arrested yesterday morning.

The men were conveyed to New Mole House police station were they were interviewed under caution by detectives.

Badr Acharki has been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and has been detained in police custody pending his appearance before the Magistrates’ Court later this morning.

The 35 year old Moroccan national has been granted police bail pending further enquiries. The investigation continues.
