A Spanish national appeared yesterday at the Magistrates' Court charged with attempting to assist the illegal migration of a Chinese national, namely KEJUN WU, into Spain.
YONGNAN ZHANG YANG (43), was arrested in June 2020 after the Spanish authorities turned both men back at the Commercial Gate. KEJUN WU had presented someone else’s ID card when the two men attempted to cross the frontier.
YANG, who has Spanish nationality, told RGP officers that KEJUN WU had been living with him at his Marina Court address for the previous four months. KEJUN WU has since been deported to China.
Yesterday, YANG was found guilty of attempting to assist illegal immigration into another state. He will be sentenced on 9 July.
