A local man appeared before the Magistrates’ Court yesterday morning, charged with three counts of burglary and one count of theft under the Crimes Act, as well as two counts of transferring criminal property under the Proceeds of Crime Act. A 16 year old local female juvenile also appeared before the court charged with two counts of being in possession of criminal property.
22 year old Ben BROWN, of MacFarlane House, was arrested during the evening of Wednesday 26th August by RGP Response Team officers, following a report concerning the theft of items of clothing.
BROWN was also identified and arrested in connection with three burglaries committed at licensed premises in the area of Casemates Square. A search warrant executed at a residential address resulted in the recovery of two recently purchased mobile devices and monies suspected to represent the proceeds of crime, and also resulted in the arrest of a 16 year old local female.
Both individuals were interviewed, detained and subsequently charged at New Mole House at the conclusion of the investigation. They appeared before the Magistrates' Court on Friday 28th August 2026, with BROWN remanded in custody at HM Prison Windmill Hill until his next court appearance.
