Four Arrests Following Incident in Glacis Estate

Four males have been arrested following a disturbance in the Glacis Estate during the early hours of yesterday morning (Sat 13 January).

Following a report of a fight near the football pitch at around 2.30am, RGP officers attended and found a young woman needing medical attention for facial injuries. Ambulance staff were called to treat her injuries.

She alleged that she had been punched and kicked by two male juveniles.

After a foot chase, officers detained the two juveniles, aged 14 and 16, and arrested them on suspicion of Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.

Subsequently, and after several warnings, a local man 55, was also arrested on suspicion of Obstructing Police, after interferring with the officers during the incident.

As officers were dealing with the incident, another male juvenile, 14, was being persistently abusive and rude to officers so he was also arrested on suspicion of Offensive Conduct Conducive to Breach of the Peace.

All four have been bailed whilst an investigation continues.
