Minister for Justice Visits New Mole House

Gibraltar’s Minister for Justice has visited New Mole House where he met the new Custody and Command and Dispatch civilian staff.

During the visit, the Hon Nigel Feetham KC MP was able to express his gratitude to Acting Commissioner Cathal Yeats, who is due to retire next month after 28 years and 10 months in the Royal Gibraltar Police.

The Minister was given a tour of the police station and met police officers from several departments during his visit.

Following the civilianisation of the Command and Dispatch and Detention Officer roles, a number of police officers will now be freed up to work in other high demand areas within the RGP.

Minister Feetham said: “Since becoming Minister for Justice, I have made it a priority to regularly visit the RGP and engage directly with officers and staff. I was pleased to meet the new civilian team and to see first-hand how these changes are helping free up police officers for frontline duties. I also want to extend my sincere thanks to Acting Commissioner Cathal Yeats for his dedicated service to Gibraltar over many years.”
