THREE PERSONS ARRESTED FOLLOWING SEPARATE VIOLENT INCIDENTS

Date: 12th January 2026
No: 4/2026
Three persons were arrested in connection with two separate incidents reported to Police on Saturday evening.
In the first of the incidents, 22 year old Michael MARTIN, of Lime Kiln Steps, was arrested on suspicion of Grievous Bodily Harm, Destroying or Damage Property and Common Assault.
The arrest follows a report received on Saturday evening alleging that MARTIN had assaulted a male and female using a pair of garden shears, at a residence in Laguna Estate. As a result of this incident, the male victim sustained lacerations to the head, face and ears, and the female victim sustained lacerations to her hands.
The investigation was handed over to detectives from the Crime & Protective Services, who later interviewed MARTIN and subsequently charged him with one count of Grievous Bodily Harm, one count of Common Assault, and one count of Criminal Damage.
MARTIN remains in police custody and will be appearing before the courts this morning.
In the second incident, officers arrested a 21 year old local male and a 16 year old local female juvenile on suspicion of Affray. The female was additionally arrested on suspicion of 3 separate counts of Assault on Police.
The arrests followed multiple reports received from members of the public on Saturday evening, regarding a violent altercation involving several persons, where offensive weapons were being used in the area of Calpe and Willis’ Road. Both individuals were arrested and conveyed to New Mole House. They were later interviewed and bailed out to return at a later date, pending the outcome of further enquiries.
